Safeguard for sewing machine adjustments: Best practice

A little genius parts kit conserves the optimal adjustments of the Dürkopp Adler M-Type sewing machine

Accidentally or not: the machine user often changes the settings of the sewing machine a little bit. Thus, the original adjustment can be lost, and it can take valuable time until the best adjustments are reset.

To avoid adjustment changes, Dürkopp Adler offers a little mechanical parts set for the  M-Type series. A couple of subclasses of the M-Type can be retrofitted with this kit. It blocks mechanically the settings for stitch length, thread tension, presser foot lifting and presser foot pressure.

Airbag tearing seams with constant margins between edge and seam: Best practice for automotive upholstery

Improve the sewing result by using an optical edge monitoring device for Dürkopp Adler class 550-867

In its standard version, the sewing unit comes with a special mechanical edge guide including a notch detection. However, unsteady margins between edge and seam still can occur.

This can be avoided with the sensory monitoring device. The user is warned by a light when he is inaccurately guiding the material. The sewing process will be interrupted when sewing outside of the tolerance. This improves the sewing result so that highest quality requirements can be fulfilled.

The conversion kit can be ordered with part No. 0867 590944.

Sew luxury leather bag handles with Dürkopp Adler 205: Best practice

How to sew high quality handles for leather bags and handbags?  Special sewing gauges on the Dürkopp Adler sewing machine class 205-370 will give you the best results.

The welt and the welt jacket are guided directly by the sewing foot so that an additonal edge guide is not necessary. The distance between the material edge and the seam is always equal and small. This supports the luxury look and feel of the bag handle. This solution produces nearly no waste caused by bad seams or stitches so that you can save a lot of expensive leather.

The price of the sewing gauge parts is not only attractive for industrial producers but also for small manufacturers who already own a 205-370 or think about buying a used one and equip the machine with this gauge.

Best Practice: High quality top stitching of large leather or upholstery pieces with pneumatic seam center guide

The Dürkopp Adler classes 767 and 768 can be equipped with the pneumatic seam center guide N800 005611. This guide perfectly supports the top stitiching of large and heavy leather or upholstery pieces in 2-needle applications.
The result are high-class fancy seams with an exactly equal distance to the assembly seam.
The up- and downlifting of the guide is done easyly and practically by an intgrated push button. The guide can be adjusted in height by means of a lever. The guide can also be used for 1-needle applications as an edge guide.
To use this attachment, the machine must be equipped with an electropneumatic seam tacking and electropneumatic foot lift already.

Best Practice: Piping and regular sewing in one operation without sewing gauge change - for class 367, 767 and 867

Gauge changes cost time and money. With a special solution, this cost can be avoided. A special welting attachment allows to guide and sew welt, welt jacket, top and bottom material in one operation. Even spacious curves are possible.

The tape width can be set from 20 to 40 mm in no time. With the corrseponding sewing gauges it is possible to process piping diameters of 3 to 8 mm. The piping guide is swivable. So, also normal sewing can be done without changing the sewing feet.

The precise pricking of the welt with top and bottom material is supported in the best possible way. The welt groove is integrated one half each in the presser foot and in the feeding foot. Different materials can be sewn, too.

The solution is applicable for classes 367, 767 and 867 and consists of the following parts:
Piping attachment N093 V91163
Swivel rail N800 V91164
Presser foot 0767 V91112
Transport foot 0767 V91165

Best practice: How to sew felled seams in leather with special foot with integrated guide

For felled seams in leather normally an adjustabe additional edge guide is used. With the innovative sewing feet with integrated guide from Dürkopp Adler you will not need this additional guide anymore.
Adjustable guides are a great help, but have the disadvantage of slightly varying distance between seam and edge due to manual adjustment.

The advantages are:
  • easy handling due to small sewing gauge size and free sewing area
  • always correct and constant distance between edge and seam
  • constant high quality sewing result

Dürkopp Adler offers tw types of feet (see attached pictures):
  • feet with long sword for mainly straight seams
  • feet with short sword for frequent curved seams
All feet are available with integrated guide on the right or the left side of the needle.
